Reflection
While pen and paper are valuable teaching and learning tools, Stadard 3 reminds us that the traditional printed Encyclopædia Britannica and writing letters are a thing of the past and we must embrace digital researching tools and virtual forms of communication. With millions of digital tools at our fingertips, it is our responsibility to help guide students on how to research, collaborate, and communicate effectively.
Professional Growth Plan
Overseeing technology integration and professional development in four buildings, I embrace technological forms of communication and research. Teachers contact me via email, the school website, and phone with their various needs and technology allows for me to give instant feedback. I use the Google Suite of tools constantly to collaborate with staff as well of GoToMeeting when hosting online meetings and webinars.
Artifacts
Rather than waiting 24 hours for your newspaper to be published, Twitter provides a constant stream of news in real time. Twitter can be used to dismeninate information but also to gain information. I created a list on Twitter to get the most current technology in education news and share my news feed with the teachers in my district. Click here to see my Technology in Education Twitter feed.
School Website
Teachers are busy and need one easy homepage to visit that contains all the links they might need throughout the day. With this in mind, I created the staff webpage for Sage Day. The website includes fequently visited sites for research, grading, communication and more. Please access the staff website I created here.
